Tia Mowry, our beloved one-half of the infamous Sister Sister duo has finally given in to the hair care mystery curly-haired girls have been having since she first popped up on our screens during the nineties. Tia recently made news by announcing her split from her husband Cory Hadrict which had been a long-dreaded story in the media for months. Tia however has taken on a new storyline by announcing her new hair care product line 4U by Tia Mowry. It’s not common for celebrities to launch a new product line but for Tia, this product actually made sense as women have wondered for years how she’s been able to care for her beautiful hair. The secret is finally revealed in her new haircare product which she curated alongside biotechnology company Amyris (known for producing other popular beauty brands like Biossance, JVN, and Rose Inc). We had no idea the actress was going to hit the girls with a natural hair care line but I’m pretty sure we will be pleasantly surprised by the success of this launch.
The debut collection includes eight products, all priced around $11 and below which is very uncommon for the average price range for natural hair products. There is a Moisturizing Shampoo, Moisturizing Conditioner, Clarifying Shampoo, Lightweight Conditioner, Leave-In Curl Cream, Curl-Defining Gel, Curl Refresher Mist, and Multiuse Hair Oil. These are typically the kinds of products that natural beauties essentially wear but let’s take a dive into the ingredients.
All products in this line include the silicone Hemisqualane which is ideal for conditioners, treatments, and styling products. It is specifically made to moisturize and repair the hair shaft at the root. It reduces frizz and greasiness and also delivers color and thermal production. It’s the perfect ingredient for managing those coils and curls. This line also includes ingredients like sea moss, aloe vera, watermelon extract, and flaxseed which have been used by the actress herself along her haircare journey as well. This product line seems to have been made with real love and detail. We can see how much effort and determination Tia has put into this product.
According to Byrdie, in an interview, Tia states that she used these products on her children’s hair as well as her own to properly test the effectiveness of each product. Not only did Tia put her heart and soul into these products, but she also made them affordable for any woman of color to purchase. As we mentioned earlier, that’s not common for these types of haircare products which usually range between $15 and up. This says a lot about the heart of the actress and the passion she has for women to be able to enjoy her product no matter what their financial status or abilities are.
